As we kick off this inaugural blog, it’s only fitting to start with a quote from the world’s greatest boss, Michael Scott, who some believe inspired the idea of Never Up Never In: “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take – Wayne Gretzky.” This visionary quote resonates with all golfers who understand the importance of taking chances. If you’re new to the game or unfamiliar with the term Never Up Never In, it’s a slogan that refers to putting. Put simply, it means that if a putt lacks enough speed or velocity, it won’t go in because it never had a chance in the first place. So, next time you’re on the course with your friends, and they keep leaving their putts short, hit them with the classic “Never Up Never In” and watch their frustration boil over.

With that introduction out of the way, allow me to formally introduce myself as Jakey Golfs. I’m just an ordinary guy, but with an extraordinary passion for golf. Golf is not just a game to me, it’s a way of life. I’ve been playing for nearly two decades now and have worked in various positions within the golf industry. This has exposed me to a lot of different experiences and taught me more than I ever thought possible when I first picked up a club all those years ago. I’m excited to share all of my knowledge and experiences with anyone who stumbles across this blog.

At Never Up Never In, I aim to provide a mixture of personal anecdotes and real-time coverage of golf news and stories. I’ll be taking you back to my “competitive” golf days, sharing memorable courses I’ve played, highlighting all the news of the PGA Tour and “other” golf leagues as well as recounting my experiences working in the industry. In addition, I’ll be offering plenty of golf tips and tricks that could be useful for improving your own game. My goal is to connect with fellow lovers of the game and have fun doing it.
